On the morning of July 24, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam attended a meeting with meritorious people and historical witnesses on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1945 - July 27, 2025) chaired by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Also attending the meeting were Politburo members: President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, and leaders of central departments, ministries and branches with more than 250 delegates who are veteran revolutionary cadres, pre-upressionary cadres, historical witnesses and outstanding meritorious people.


The delegates represented more than 9.2 million people with meritorious services and relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution nationwide.
Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra said that the program was honored to welcome 3 delegates who were revolutionary veterans and pre-upprising cadres; 10 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; 30 Heroes of the People's Armed Forces and Heroes of Labor during the resistance period; 9 historical witnesses; 167 war invalids, including 26 war invalids with reduced working capacity of 81% or more; 26 war invalids; 52 resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals; 35 people who have participated in revolutionary activities, resistance, national defense or international duties were arrested and imprisoned by the enemy; 32 relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution; 33 relatives of martyrs; along with many other outstanding delegates who have meritorious services to the revolution.

Of which, the oldest delegate this year is 101 years old, and the youngest delegate is a 32-year-old war invalid.
In particular, among the delegates attending were 20 ethnic minorities, including: Khmer, Jrai, Nung, Tay, Thai, Cao Lan, Co Tu, Kadong, Pahy...
The delegates attending the program are people with revolutionary contributions, exemplary historical witnesses, representing the indomitable will and indomitable spirit in the struggle for independence and national reunification, as well as in the cause of building and developing the Fatherland today.
The meeting was an opportunity for revolutionary veterans, pre-upprentice cadres, and historical witnesses to exchange and review the heroic history of the nation. This is also an opportunity for delegates to share about life and changes in the era of national growth.
