On the afternoon of July 2, at the headquarters of Dong Da ward (Hanoi), General Secretary To Lam chaired a meeting with voters of the No. 1 electorate after the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.
At the conference, General Secretary To Lam answered many voters' recommendations related to issues such as the two-level government model, the widespread situation of counterfeit goods, high gold prices, etc.
Voters wondered whether there was any overload for ward-level civil servants with many jobs and large areas, General Secretary To Lam said that the Central Government had carefully calculated before arranging. In fact, up to now, cadres can completely take care of it.
Visiting and inspecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the General Secretary stated that there are many qualified officials. Many city leaders, directors, deputy directors of departments, branches, regular agencies of provincial and municipal Party Committees who have become commune secretaries are very dynamic, very young, very healthy, and the people are very happy.
The General Secretary also praised and highly appreciated the cadres who had to retire early and voluntarily applied for retirement to serve the process of streamlining the apparatus.
In addition to the positive aspects, according to the General Secretary, there are still some cadres who are concerned about the restructuring of the apparatus.
"Why do the people agree to support, but the cadres are self-conscious? That is completely unreasonable. I have to serve the people, or for my own self, the highest thing is to serve the people. The people agree and are excited, we must be in that excitement" - the General Secretary emphasized.

Regarding voters' recommendations and concerns regarding the arrangement of headquarters after streamlining the apparatus, the General Secretary said that the Central Government has made calculations, so there will be no need to worry about surplus, the important thing is to arrange it appropriately.
"Rebirth in Hanoi, especially in the inner city, is very rare and must be arranged effectively. Schools, health stations, places for activities, entertainment and recreation are still lacking, even party cell meetings of some residential groups are not available... so headquarters must be arranged for these things" - the General Secretary said.
Regarding the widespread spread of counterfeit goods, fake foods, and fake medicine, the General Secretary emphasized that counterfeit foods and fake medicine are unacceptable because they affect the health of the elderly and children.
"Children are the future of the country, they should need nutrition to develop, but they have to buy fake milk. The elderly are sick, cannot eat rice, buy milk in the hope of good health, and buy fake milk. We must fight this type of crime, how can we stop this? Not only counterfeit but also poor quality goods are unacceptable" - the General Secretary said.
Regarding the issue of caring for education and training, the General Secretary said that all students of school age must be able to go to school, ensuring their rights.
For students in remote areas with difficult natural conditions, according to the General Secretary, the Central Government is currently calculating the construction of schools and accommodation for students and teachers in 286 border communes.
In response to voters' opinions on the unstable gold market, the General Secretary said that there is currently a situation where domestic gold prices have a price difference of many millions of VND compared to the world, leading to gold smuggling.
"Why not mobilize, let people contribute, send gold to the State so that the State can accumulate and increase national strength. What is the mechanism? This is a legal asset of the people, must be respected, protected and mobilized into national resources.
We are really impatient, we see that we must manage well, fight smuggling and respect the people's ownership rights" - the General Secretary added.
