On the morning of February 6, General Secretary To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived at Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh (Kingdom of Cambodia), beginning a state visit to Cambodia, at the invitation of King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni.
This visit also includes important activities, in which General Secretary To Lam will co-chair the high-level meeting between the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party, as well as co-chair the meeting between the three leaders of the three parties Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos in Cambodia, at the invitation of Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
Also participating in the delegation were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
As soon as they got off the plane, General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man walked along the red carpet amidst the line of honor guards and shook hands with the members welcoming the delegation. Techo International Airport was brilliant with the national flags of Vietnam and Cambodia.
A large number of Cambodian people were present at the airport, bringing photos, flags and flowers to welcome General Secretary To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation.
This visit is of great significance, an opportunity for senior leaders of the two countries to strengthen exchanges, consolidate the foundation of political trust, and promote the effective implementation of the agreements reached.
The visit also aims to further deepen the traditional friendly relations between the two Parties and two countries, thereby creating momentum to bring Vietnam - Cambodia relations to a new height, in accordance with the aspirations of the people of the two countries and actively contributing to maintaining a peaceful, stable, cooperative and developing environment in the region.
