Within the framework of the State visit to Laos, on the morning of February 5th, in Vientiane capital, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith chaired the Conference to announce the results of the 14th National Congress (XIV Congress) of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
General Secretary To Lam stated clearly that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam not only achieved high consensus on the content of documents and action programs, but also showed consensus and high concentration in personnel work, especially the selection of the 14th Central Committee of the Party.
The Congress elected the Central Executive Committee consisting of 200 comrades, including 180 official members and 20 alternate members.
The Congress oriented the construction of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, especially the leadership team of the Party and State of the XIV term, into a clean, strong collective, truly united, highly unified in will and action, fully promoting pioneering, exemplary, combative, action-oriented and disciplined nature, ready to contribute and sacrifice for the noble cause of the Party, for the prosperous and happy life of the people.
The Congress also unanimously approved decisions of historical significance to successfully implement the two 100-year strategic goals that the 13th Party Congress had identified.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his deep belief that, with the historical strength of the nation, the long tradition of nearly a century of leading the country of the Communist Party of Vietnam, along with the support, joint efforts, and consensus of the entire people and the encouragement, motivation, and cooperation of international friends, including the Party, State and fraternal Lao people together with progressive forces around the world, Vietnam will definitely successfully implement the Resolution of the XIV Congress, successfully build a peaceful, independent, democratic, rich, strong, civilized and happy socialist Vietnam.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam, on behalf of the Party, State and People of Vietnam, respectfully thanked the congratulatory letter of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party on the occasion of the successful XIV Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
On behalf of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith respectfully thanked General Secretary To Lam for directly informing about the results of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, thereby showing special respect and unwavering loyalty to the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
General Secretary and President of Laos expressed his impression and appreciation for the great and comprehensive achievements that the Party, State and fraternal Vietnamese people have achieved in 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
General Secretary and President of Laos believes that under the wise leadership of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, the fraternal Vietnamese people will continue to achieve even greater new achievements in the cause of renovation, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress to achieve the goal of a prosperous people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.
