At the meeting, the delegation listened to a report on the situation of arranging ward-level administrative units in District 3 - localities to merge 10 existing wards into 3 new wards including: Ban Co, Xuan Hoa and Nhieu Loc.
In which, Xuan Hoa ward was established on the basis of merging the entire Vo Thi Sau ward and the rest of ward 4, with a natural area of 2.217km2 and a population of nearly 48,500 people.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Xuan - Secretary of District 3 Party Committee (expected to hold the position of Secretary of Xuan Hoa Ward Party Committee), said that the work of arranging cadres and civil servants to the new wards has been basically completed, ensuring requirements on quantity, quality and structure.
At the same time, preparations for grassroots Party congresses, reviewing assets, equipment and assigning tasks are also being urgently implemented to ensure effective operation of local governments at both levels from July 1.

General Secretary To Lam hopes that the Xuan Hoa ward government in particular and localities in general need to promote digital transformation, carry out online public administrative procedures, and facilitate both people and officials.
General Secretary To Lam also noted that the staff need to proactively approach and apply science and technology to support people to get acquainted with and proficiently use public services in the online environment, contributing to building a modern, transparent and efficient administration.

According to the plan, at 8:00 a.m. on June 30, the whole country will simultaneously hold a ceremony to announce and hand over the Central Government's decision on the arrangement of local government at two levels.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the announcement ceremony will take place at the Ho Chi Minh City Police Academy. General Secretary To Lam will present the decisions to establish the new Ho Chi Minh City and the decisions on key personnel of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces.
After the merger, the new Ho Chi Minh City will keep its name, with an area of over 6,772 km2, a population of over 14 million people, including 168 commune-level administrative units, including 113 wards, 54 communes and 1 special administrative area.
