On the morning of June 25, General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation worked with the Standing Committee of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee.
Also attending were Politburo members, leaders of central ministries, departments and branches.
On the local leaders' side, there were members of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang; Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai.
After merging Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces to establish Quang Tri province, the new province has an area of over 12,699km2 (254%) and a population of 1,845,335 people (131-81% of the standard).
The new Quang Tri province will have 78 commune-level administrative units. The administrative - political center of Quang Tri province after the merger will be located in Dong Hoi city.
