Kieng Sang Kindergarten was established in 1954. Initially, the school was just a regular educational institution, but since the end of the 1970 it has been converted into a music training institution for gifted children.
The school's teachers all have about 40 years of experience in the field of music training. In addition to teaching, the school's teachers are tasked with going to other training institutions to seek musical talents.
The school has received attention from the North Korean side and has been visited many times by North Korean President Kim Jong Un. Many students of the school have achieved high results in international competitions.
Kieng Sang Kindergarten has a close relationship with the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Kindergarten, a meaningful gift that the North Korean Government has given to the Vietnamese people (March 8, 1978).
In 2010, the Vietnam-Trieu Friendship Kindergarten sent 100 winter coats to the Kien Sang Kindergarten. In June 2011, during a visit to North Korea by the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association, the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Kindergarten and the Kien Sang Kindergarten signed a cooperation agreement and established a class named after President Ho Chi Minh.
