North Korea wishes to expand and develop relations with Vietnam in all fields

Ambassador Ri Sung Guk affirmed North Korea's consistent stance in expanding and developing relations with Vietnam in all fields.

On May 20, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to Vietnam Ri Sung Guk.

At the reception, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung highly appreciated the efforts of Ambassador Ri Sung Guk and the collective of the North Korean Embassy in Vietnam in promoting the traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and North Korea.

Expressing his honor to visit Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Ambassador Ri Sung Guk affirmed the consistent stance of the Party, State and people of North Korea in expanding and developing relations between the two countries in all fields, in accordance with the common orientation and desires of the people of the two countries in accordance with the spirit of the agreement reached during the historic visit to North Korea by General Secretary and President To Lam in October 2025.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always value and wish to constantly nurture and promote Vietnam-North Korea relations to develop more and more substantively and effectively in the new era of development, in accordance with the common aspirations of the people of the two countries, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and in the world.

The Prime Minister requested the two sides to closely coordinate to effectively implement the common understanding and agreements reached during the visits of the leaders of the two countries, focusing on continuing to consolidate political trust through promoting exchanges and high-level delegation exchanges at all levels; maintaining the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms, including the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation; at the same time, promoting cooperation in the fields of agriculture, culture, sports, tourism, education, health and people-to-people exchanges; actively coordinating and supporting each other at regional and international forums of mutual concern.

Agreeing with the important directional opinions of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Ambassador Ri Sung Guk affirmed that he will make every effort to contribute to the development of the traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and North Korea; wishing the Prime Minister to continue to pay attention to and create conditions for the work of the North Korean Embassy in Vietnam.
