China attaches great importance to its relationship with Vietnam

General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping affirmed that the Party, State and People of China attach great importance to relations with Vietnam.

At the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong visited and worked in China from October 9-12.

According to VNA, on October 11, in Beijing, Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong and the delegation met with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and held talks with member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Secretary of the Secretariat, Chief of the Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Cai Qi.

The Standing Secretariat emphasized that the delegation's visit aimed to thoroughly grasp and implement the important common perception between the senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries in recent times, most recently the state visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam; affirming that continuing to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, promoting the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future has strategic significance according to the motto "16 words", the spirit of "4 goods" and the direction of "6 more" is an objective requirement, a strategic choice and a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy.

At the talks and meetings, leaders of the two sides expressed their high regard for bilateral relations and appreciated the positive and comprehensive developments in the relations between the two Parties and two countries in recent times.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping agreed with the proposals of Standing member of the Secretariat Liang Qiang, suggesting that the two sides effectively promote cooperation and exchange mechanisms on the Party channel, organize theoretical seminars and cooperate in training cadres, and exchange experiences in Party building and national governance; effectively implement dialogue mechanisms in the fields of national defense and security; enhance substantive cooperation and high-quality connectivity, especially in railway and border gate connectivity, infrastructure construction, state-owned enterprise development, and environmental protection, including new areas such as digital economy, green development, and disaster prevention and mitigation.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping suggested that the two sides coordinate to organize many diverse exchange and cooperation activities on the occasion of the "Year of China-Vietnam Humanitarian Exchange" as the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, including various forms of exchanges and high-level visits.

Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong and comrade Thai Ky discussed specific implementation of the common perception of senior leaders and agreements between the two Parties and countries. The Chinese leaders expressed their desire to promote cooperation in traditional fields and expand to new areas of cooperation, increase imports of Vietnamese agricultural products and encourage Chinese enterprises to increase investment in Vietnam.

During the meetings, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Luong Cuong suggested that the two sides control and resolve differences in a spirit of frankness, sincerity, and friendship, focusing on maintaining stability at sea, and respecting each other's legitimate rights and interests in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

During the visit to China, the delegation visited and worked with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing; surveyed facilities, exchanged with leading Chinese experts, and learned about China's theoretical and practical issues in the fields of building new quality production forces and digital transformation in Party agencies.
