VNA reported that on September 24, on the occasion of attending the High-level Week of the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York (USA), the Central Propaganda Department delegation led by Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda - had a working session with the Communist Party of the United States.
At the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his joy at meeting again with Co-Chair of the Communist Party of the USA Rossana Cambron, right after the warm and comradely meeting between General Secretary and President To Lam and leaders of the Communist Party, left-wing movements and American friends.
Appreciating the role of the Communist Party of the United States over the past century, Head of Central Propaganda Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his deep gratitude for the support of the Communist Party, people and progressive friends of the United States for Vietnam throughout the struggle for national independence, national reunification, overcoming the consequences of war, fighting for justice for victims of Agent Orange, promoting the normalization process and developing Vietnam - US relations.
On this occasion, the delegation also informed about the activities of the Communist Party of Vietnam, especially the efforts to complete the tasks of the 13th National Party Congress and prepare for the upcoming 14th National Party Congress, as well as summarize 40 years of implementing Doi Moi.
Affirming the Party's leadership mission and the path to socialism, Head of Central Propaganda Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized the "four steadfastnesses" that the Communist Party of Vietnam persistently implements, which are steadfastness and creative application and development of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought; steadfastness in the goal of national independence and socialism; steadfastness in the Party's innovation policy; steadfastness in the principles of Party building to firmly build and protect the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Co-Chairwoman of the Communist Party of the USA Rossana Cambron expressed her joy and deep impression of the achievements in economic and social development in general and Party building in particular that Vietnam has achieved under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; emphasizing that this is a great source of inspiration and encouragement for American communists and working people.
The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation, further promote exchange, research and education activities for future generations, especially the youth, contributing to enhancing understanding and friendship between the two Parties and peoples, contributing to peace, friendship and spreading progressive values of humanity.
