On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on August 31, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to posthumously award the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the resistance war against the US, saving the country to Senior Lieutenant General Bui Thien Ngo - Politburo member of the 7th tenure, former Minister of Home Affairs, now the Ministry of Public Security. General Secretary To Lam attended the Rehearsal Ceremony.
Also attending the ceremony were former Politburo members: former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; General Le Hong Anh - former Standing member of the Secretariat. Also attending were Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries: Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc. Politburo members: Standing member of the 14th National Party Congress Document Subcommittee Nguyen Van Nen; General Luong Tam Quang, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security... and representatives of the family of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Thien Ngo.

The life and career of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Thien Ngo is a fine example of a genuine communist, a loyal and exemplary leader of our Party and State; an excellent leader and commander of the Vietnam People's Public Security (CAND), a great personality loyal to the country, devoted to the people, devoted all his life to the cause of national liberation, national reunification, for the freedom and happiness of the people and the socialist ideal.
Throughout the revolutionary activities, in many different positions, he did not hesitate to sacrifice or suffer, with strategic thinking, long-term vision, wide-term vision, always grasping and creatively applying the Party's guidelines, making many great contributions to the cause of protecting security and order and building a clean and strong People's Public Security force.

Speaking at the Rehearsal Ceremony, General Luong Tam Quang - Minister of Public Security - affirmed that the People's Public Security Force always acknowledged, respected, and was grateful for the great contributions of the late Minister Bui Thien Ngo as well as the Ministers, generations of leaders, officers, and veteran police officers. The great merits and contributions of the comrades will forever be the pride and invaluable spiritual property of the People's Public Security Forces.
The entire People's Public Security Forces are determined to follow the shining example of their predecessors, including the Senior Lieutenant General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, and Former Minister Bui Thien Ngo, constantly promoting the glorious heroic tradition, continuing to build a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, modern force that is forever the sharp shield, the steel shield to protect the Party, protect the Fatherland, protect the people, creating a foundation for successfully implementing the Party's policies and strategic goals, together with the entire Party, people, and army under the leadership of the Party to build a strong Vietnam, a strong people, a strong country, a strong democracy, fairness, civilization, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam directly presented the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the resistance war against the US and saving the country to the representative of the family of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Thien Ngo, Politburo member of the 7th tenure, former Minister of Home Affairs, now the Ministry of Public Security, expressing the recognition, gratitude and appreciation of the Party, State and people for the great contributions and contributions of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Thien Ngo in the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
