On August 25, in Hanoi, the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and External Affairs, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Youth National Assembly Group of the 15th National Assembly, in coordination with the Secretariat of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), organized an "AIPA Roadshow in Vietnam".
Speaking at the opening of AIPA Roadshow in Vietnam, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, Chairman of the National Assembly Youth Union Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that the AIPA Roadshow in Hanoi has a special significance, contributing to spreading the spirit of the message of General Secretary To Lam sent to the recent AIPA-45 General Assembly.
The Chairman of the Young National Assembly Delegation hopes that young National Assembly deputies in the region will continuously study, practice, improve their professional qualifications, political courage and forecasting capacity, contribute to building a modern legal system, in line with national realities and approaching international standards.
Along with that, it is necessary to nurture the aspiration to build a rich and strong country, linking innovation with the development of science - technology and the digital economy; proactively participating in the global value chain, taking advantage of opportunities from digital transformation, green economy and circular economy.
Promote the soft power of culture, preserve national identity, and at the same time promote Vietnamese values to the world, turning culture into a spiritual foundation and driving force for sustainable socio-economic development.
The Chairman of the Young National Assembly Delegation Group believes that through the AIPA Roadshow, National Assembly deputies/young artists will exchange experiences, share initiatives and build a strong cooperation network among young delegates in the region, thereby practically contributing to a strong, creative and prosperous ASEAN.
AIPA Secretary General Siti Rozaimeriyanty Dato Haji Abdul Rahman said that this is the first time AIPA Roadshow has been held in Vietnam.
The event is part of a series of activities of AIPA's Comprehensive Communication Plan for the period 2018 - 2025 and AIPA Strategic Plan 2023 - 2030 organized by the AIPA Secretariat in coordination with member parliaments to raise awareness of the young generation about ASEAN and AIPA, targeting young people, university students and outstanding young faces.
Through dialogue, exchange and sharing activities with young people, AIPA Roadshow contributes to spreading the message about AIPA's role in promoting regional cooperation on the parliamentary diplomacy platform; at the same time, it helps build a foundation of understanding the activities of AIPA young parliamentarians, promoting connections between young people from countries in the region.
Chairman of the National Assembly Youth Union Nguyen Anh Tuan added that today's event not only brings opportunities for the young generation of Vietnam to directly exchange and learn with international friends but also contributes to affirming the important role of young people in building a united, creative and sustainable ASEAN community.
