Vietnam values multilateralism and relations with the US
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said that the working trip to the US of General Secretary and President To Lam was a great success, achieving at a high level all the goals and tasks set out with nearly 50 bilateral and multilateral activities.
Firstly, this is the first multilateral foreign trip of General Secretary and President To Lam to directly attend the United Nations General Assembly. Through the important speeches of the General Secretary and President, we have conveyed a strong and clear message at the highest level about the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress, demonstrating Vietnam's aspirations in the era of national development, demonstrating respect and strong support for multilateralism, international law and the United Nations Charter.
Second, Vietnam has continued to demonstrate and portray an image of Vietnam as peaceful, stable, friendly, dynamic, innovative, trustworthy and responsible to the international community; a country on the path of strong socio-economic development, wishing to contribute more to common tasks for peace, cooperation and development globally. All of these continue to help affirm the increasing role, position and prestige of Vietnam - a country entering an era of rising in the international arena.
Third, we have succeeded in making the most of our working trips to promote relations with countries and international organizations. General Secretary and President To Lam has had dozens of meetings with leaders of countries and international organizations to promote comprehensive cooperation in traditional areas of cooperation as well as expanding to new areas of cooperation such as innovation, green technology, and digital technology.
Fourthly, through the arrangement of the program and reception, it can be seen that the US attaches great importance to the working visit of General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, with a solemn reception, especially the solemn arrangement of the meeting between President Joe Biden and General Secretary and President To Lam. This shows that the US truly respects Vietnam's political system, respects the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam and wishes to further develop the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Evidence of the special relationship of trust between Vietnam and Cuba
During the State visit to Cuba, the warm and friendly reception with many exceptions from the leaders of the Cuban Party and State towards General Secretary and President To Lam demonstrated the solidarity, tradition and special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba which has always been a valuable asset highly valued by the Parties, States and People of the two countries, continuing to develop well in all fields.
The image of First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez coming to the hotel where the delegation was staying to have a friendly chat before going with General Secretary and President To Lam to visit the Mariel Special Development Zone, or the fact that Comrade Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez himself and many other high-ranking Cuban leaders came to the foot of the plane to see off the General Secretary, President and his wife, are the clearest evidences of the closeness, sincerity and special trust between the two sides.
In a thank-you message sent to First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez after the visit, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that this visit is the inheritance and continuation of the policy of attaching top importance to the Vietnam-Cuba relationship by the Party, State of Vietnam, generations of Vietnamese leaders, especially the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
