Vietnam will become NVIDIA's second home

The Government of Vietnam and NVIDIA Corporation signed a cooperation agreement to establish the NVIDIA AI Research and Development Center and AI Data Center in Vietnam.

On the afternoon of December 5, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working session with Mr. Jensen Huang, founder and Chairman of NVIDIA Corporation and witnessed the signing ceremony of the Agreement between the Vietnamese Government and NVIDIA Corporation on cooperation in establishing the NVIDIA Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research and Development Center and the AI ​​Data Center in Vietnam.

According to the Government Newspaper, at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the Chairman and senior leaders of NVIDIA Corporation to visit and work in Vietnam for the second time, and congratulated the Chairman of NVIDIA on being awarded the VinFuture Prize to honor individuals and scientists of humanity; and sincerely thanked NVIDIA for its affection, advice and effective cooperation for Vietnam.

The Prime Minister assessed that the Cooperation Agreement between NVIDIA and the Government of Vietnam, which was just signed just over 1 year after the Prime Minister visited NVIDIA in the US (September 2023), is an important milestone demonstrating the determination and strong commitment of Chairman Jensen Huang in turning Vietnam into "NVIDIA's second home".

In the coming time, the Prime Minister proposed that the two sides cooperate in researching and developing artificial intelligence to create a new production force based on Vietnamese artificial intelligence with the cooperation of NVIDIA and propose some specific directions.

Accordingly, NVIDIA continues to advise Vietnam to develop this field in accordance with the trend of the times and the conditions, circumstances, and cultural and historical traditions of Vietnam; cooperate in developing artificial intelligence infrastructure; cooperate in training human resources to promote the intelligence and capacity of Vietnamese people, with the view that people are the center, subject, goal, resource, and driving force for development; cooperate in developing artificial intelligence to exploit underground space, sea space, and outer space; cooperate in promoting the startup movement, innovation, especially inspiring the young generation; develop technology to fully exploit Vietnam's potential through artificial intelligence.

The Prime Minister asked NVIDIA Corporation to continue to closely coordinate with the National Innovation Center, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and leading technology enterprises and leading technical universities in Vietnam.

For his part, NVIDIA President Jensen Huang expressed his pleasure to return to Vietnam to announce NVIDIA's Research and Development Center in Vietnam, continuing the discussion with the Prime Minister on the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductor chips, and technology in Vietnam.

Vietnam's strong encouragement and support for this field will be a big push to build an artificial intelligence ecosystem for Vietnam and NVIDIA and I will be your partner, your friend on every step, every journey of artificial intelligence. I would like to thank the Prime Minister for his vision and encouragement, the visit in 2023 and the messages of the Prime Minister have convinced me of Vietnam's capacity, the prosperous future that artificial intelligence can bring to Vietnam" - said the President of NVIDIA.
