According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the reception, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the visit of Prime Minister Boris Rhein at a time when the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership in general and the Vietnam-Hessen relationship in particular are developing well in all areas, believing that the visit will create new momentum for the Vietnam-Hessen relationship.
Prime Minister Boris Rhein affirmed that Hessen always attaches importance to strengthening relations with Vietnam and his visit this time aims to further promote cooperation between Hessen and Vietnam in the fields of economy, education - training and labor.
The two sides expressed their delight at the positive and effective development of the Vietnam-Hessen relationship in the overall good cooperation between the two countries. In particular, in the economic field, the trade turnover between Vietnam and the state of Hessen in recent years has reached about 1 billion Euros, equivalent to 1/10 of the total trade turnover between Vietnam and Germany. Many Hessen enterprises are investing effectively in Vietnam such as Bilfinger & Berger, Messer, Sanofi-Aventis, Fresenius, Commerzbank...
In order to promote multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed to Prime Minister Boris Rhein 6 contents to promote in the coming time, including:
(i) Propose that the state of Hessen has a voice in lobbying the German Parliament to soon ratify the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and continue to support and encourage state enterprises to invest and do business in Vietnam;
(ii) Continue to support the development and expansion of the Vietnam-Germany University, especially in fields of study such as high technology, finance - banking, semiconductor industry, AI ...;
(iii) Sharing experiences in implementing projects on sustainable development, climate change response, clean energy, renewable energy to achieve carbon emission reduction goals; supporting Vietnam in accessing capital sources, management experience and human resource training to implement the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) framework;
(iv) Receiving Vietnamese workers, especially skilled workers;
(v) Continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in the state to live, work and integrate into the local community;
(vi) Coordinate with Vietnam to organize activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to evaluate the Vietnam-Germany University, a lighthouse project between Vietnam and Germany in the field of education and training, established at the initiative of the state of Hessen, which is operating effectively, contributing to training high-quality human resources for Vietnam.
Prime Minister Boris Rhein affirmed that the state of Hessen will continue to support the development and expansion of the Vietnam-Germany University, encourage increased cooperation between training and research institutions of the two sides in the fields of high technology, finance - banking, semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence, etc., and maintain the granting of scholarships to Vietnamese students and postgraduates.
Emphasizing that Hessen is in need of receiving skilled workers from Vietnam, Prime Minister Boris Rhein suggested that both sides take advantage of favorable conditions from Germany's recent passage of the Labor Migration Law to expand the supply of human resources from Vietnam to Hessen, creating conditions for Vietnamese workers to work in Germany and supplement the state's shortage of human resources.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the Hessen state government to share experience and support Vietnam in implementing projects on climate change response, sustainable development, renewable energy, and to help Vietnam access capital sources, management experience, and human resource training to implement the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) framework between Vietnam and the G7 Group and international partners.
