Vietnam donates 100 tons of urea and superphosphate to Sri Lanka

Along with cooperation documents between ministries and sectors of the two countries, Vietnam donated 100 tons of urea and superphosphate to the Government and people of Sri Lanka.

On the morning of May 8 (local time), immediately after the high-level talks, General Secretary and President To Lam and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake witnessed the handover ceremony of cooperation documents between ministries and sectors of the two countries.

Cooperation documents include: Memorandum of Understanding between the People's Police Academy, Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the National Police Academy, Ministry of Public Security and Sri Lankan Parliamentary Affairs on cooperation in police training and scientific research.

Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Sri Lanka on science and technology fields.

Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs of Vietnam and the Ministry of Buddhism, Religious Affairs and Culture of Sri Lanka.

Memorandum of Understanding on cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Buddhism, Religious Affairs and Culture of Sri Lanka.

Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of Information and Communications between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Health and Mass Communications of Sri Lanka.

On this occasion, Vietnam donated 100 tons of urea and superphosphate to the Government and people of Sri Lanka.

Vietnam and Sri Lanka have traditional friendly relations and very good multifaceted cooperation, especially high political trust and similarities, connections in national development views, sharing cultural and Buddhist values. Cultural and tourism cooperation, especially spiritual tourism, between the two countries is very developed.

Economic and trade cooperation between the two countries still has great potential, although the current turnover is only more than 200 million USD, but with Sri Lanka stabilizing the situation and putting the country on a development trajectory, this will be a very potential market for Vietnamese businesses to promote exports and investment in the future.
