Vietnam continues to be identified as a key market in Lotte Group's global investment plan of more than 23,000 billion won (more than 16 billion USD).

On the morning of October 30 local time, within the framework of activities to attend the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week and hold bilateral meetings in Korea, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received Chairman of Lotte Corporation Shin Dong Bin.

According to VNA, President Luong Cuong highly appreciated and congratulated Lotte Group's investment and business activities in Vietnam, one of the successful investment models in Vietnam, especially in the fields of real estate business, entertainment, and food processing.

The President affirmed that Vietnam always creates favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including Korean enterprises and Lotte Group, to feel secure in investing long-term in Vietnam; at the same time, he suggested that the group continue to expand investment and consider Vietnam as a strategic market, taking advantage of the new-generation FTA agreements that Vietnam has signed.

Along with that, the President said that in the process of implementing projects in Vietnam, the group needs to pay attention to environmental protection, promote linkages with domestic enterprises, use raw materials and materials that are produced in Vietnam, ensure social security for workers, and at the same time create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the value chain.

Honored to be met by President Luong Cuong, Chairman of Lotte Group expressed his gratitude for the attention and support of the Vietnamese Government for Lotte's activities in the past time.

Mr. Shin Dong Bin said that Lotte is one of the first Korean corporations to invest in Vietnam, operating in many fields such as trade, services, food, retail and real estate.

In Vietnam, Lotte has built a modern commercial center system with many large-scale projects, notably the Lotte Mall West Lake complex in Hanoi.

The Chairman of Lotte Group emphasized that the group is holding an important position in the global development strategy, with an investment plan of more than 23,000 billion won (more than 16 billion USD) worldwide, in which Vietnam continues to be identified as a key market.

He affirmed that in the coming time, Lotte will continue to expand investment and diversify business activities in Vietnam, while always focusing on implementing social responsibility, actively contributing to the sustainable development of the local community.

Sharing and agreeing with Mr. Shin Dong Bin's opinions, the President affirmed that Vietnam highly appreciates Lotte's social responsibility activities; hopes that the group can share its experience in organizing social responsibility activities, thereby inspiring the stronger promotion of social activities for the business community in general in Vietnam.

Regarding Lotte's proposals and recommendations, the President said that he would assign relevant authorities to discuss and remove existing obstacles, thereby helping Lotte continue to operate stably in the Vietnamese market for the benefit of both sides.
