On August 21, the 1st Chau Doc Ward Party Congress, term 2025-2030, took place with the participation of 247 official delegates, outstanding Party members, representing more than 3,120 Party members from 78 Party organizations in the entire Party Committee. Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee attended and gave a speech.
Chau Doc ward was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 4 wards: Vinh Nguon, Chau Phu A, Chau Phu B, Vinh My and My An hamlet (Vinh Chau commune) with a natural area of 41.32 km2 and a population of 97,438 people. The ward has a border adjacent to the Kingdom of Cambodia, 7.027km long. The Party Committee has 78 affiliated party organizations with 3,122 party members.
At the 1st Congress, the goal was set: to build Chau Doc as the central urban area of the southwestern border of An Giang province.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai highly appreciated the results that the Chau Doc Ward Party Committee has achieved and affirmed that these achievements have contributed to making Chau Doc increasingly worthy of its position as one of the locomotives for socio-economic development and a typical image of the border urban area of An Giang province.
Expressing his agreement with the goal of building Chau Doc into a central urban area of the southwestern border of the province set by the Congress, Mr. Hai also paid attention to the multi-dimensional impacts of the world and regional situation.
According to the forecast, in the coming time, there will be complex and unpredictable developments, especially climate change, epidemics, non-traditional security factors... This sets up many opportunities and advantages for the province, intertwined with difficulties and challenges, requiring dynamism, creativity and high determination of the entire political system and people, including the especially important role of Chau Doc ward - one of the central urban areas of the southwestern border of the province and playing the role of one of the 5 key driving cities of the province - Mr. Hai emphasized.
To meet the requirements of the tasks set out in the new situation, Mr. Hai suggested 5 basic solutions:
First, continue to strengthen the building and rectification of the Party and the political system to be clean and strong in all aspects; determined to build a truly "streamlined - compact - strong - efficient - effective - effective" Party Committee and political system, serving the people...
Second, continue to affirm the important position of Chau Doc as one of the locomotives for dynamic socio-economic development of the province; with advantages in geography, history, culture along with the revolutionary, dynamic and creative tradition of the People throughout history. From there, arouse the aspiration and determination to rise strongly of the entire political and social system, creating new miracles in the development career. Especially promoting regional linkages and international economic integration.
Third, improve the material, spiritual and cultural life of the people, maintain the goals of "No more dilapidated temporary houses; no more poor and near-poor households"; continue to improve the quality of life of the people, in which it is necessary to focus on health care.
Fourth, promote the construction of digital government and comprehensive digital transformation; continue to improve digital infrastructure; strive to digitize 100% of administrative records and procedures; 100% of tasks are monitored, managed and supervised by administrative agencies in the electronic environment.
Fifth, closely following the grassroots, grasping the developments in the people; Proactively coordinating with border guards, police, and military forces in managing and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national borders... in parallel with promoting people's diplomacy, enhancing friendly cooperation, and developing the economy and culture with the border locality of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
