On December 26, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met and commended the students who won prizes at international competitions in 2025.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Vietnam has 7 delegations participating in regional and international Olympics in the subjects of Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics with 37/37 students participating and all of them winning prizes (including 13 Gold Medals, 16 Silver Medals, 8 Bronze Medals), especially all 4/4 children participating in the International Chemistry Olympics all won Gold Medals, the highest achievement ever.
In the coming time, the Prime Minister requested the Minister of Education and Training (MOET), Ministers, Heads of sectors, Secretaries, and Chairmen of localities to continue to pay more attention and care for MET - "people's growth and development".
In terms of view, it is necessary to prioritize resource allocation, focus more on discovering, training, fostering and developing talented students; clearly identify the responsibility of the entire political system, all levels, sectors, localities and the whole society.
The selection, training and fostering of talented students must be based on science, appropriateness and meeting practical needs.
Regarding the orientation, tasks, and key solutions, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training to pay more attention to this especially important work; coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to urgently develop a Project to detect and nurture young Vietnamese talents.
In which, researching breakthrough solutions to discover, select, train, foster, use and treat young talents, submitting to the Prime Minister in the first quarter of 2026.

The Prime Minister noted that developing breakthrough mechanisms and policies, especially incentives, tuition support, and scholarships for talented students, encouraging parallel training mechanisms and piloting extra-level and extra-class learning in accordance with reality.
Focus on developing general and university institutions with strengths to become the core of excellent and talented training networks in STEM subjects, some priority technology fields such as: Artificial Intelligence, semiconductors, new materials, biotechnology and social and humanities.
There are specific policies to attract talents, scientists, and excellent experts who are overseas Vietnamese and foreigners to work in Vietnam, promoting international cooperation in teaching, training, and scientific research.
At the same time, ensure equal access to education for all subjects, especially the disadvantaged, people in remote, border, island and disadvantaged areas.
Ministries, branches and localities create favorable conditions for training, fostering and promoting talents in all fields; Localities prioritize the allocation of investment resources for training and fostering talented students at all levels of education, creating the best conditions for the young generation to study, work and contribute to the homeland.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism focuses on effectively implementing the task of selecting, training, and fostering talents in the fields of culture and arts, ensuring specific regimes and policies, aiming to enhance national achievements and position in the region and the world.
