On July 30, the Standing Committee of the Committee for Culture and Society worked with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the Draft Law on Journalism (amended).
According to the report of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry has coordinated with relevant ministries, branches, localities, agencies and organizations to complete the dossier of the Draft Law on Press (amended) to submit to the Government for consideration and comments.
The draft Law on Press (amended) is expected to have 4 chapters and 50 articles (2 chapters, 11 articles less than the current Law), in which the content of 10 articles will be kept unchanged, the content of 37 articles will be amended, 3 new articles will be added, and 6 articles will be abolished.
The draft Law assigns the Government to specify in detail 19 articles; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stipulates in detail 6 articles. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to have 6 decrees detailing and guiding the implementation of the Law and 3 circulars of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Committee for Culture and Society said that the draft Press Law (amended) has been prepared quite carefully, going through a process of collecting public opinions from ministries, branches, experts, seminars and seminars.
In the draft Law, the new contents have been regulated quite fully and in detail; the Drafting Committee has presented convincingly, showing the need to amend the contents to suit the reality.
According to Vice Chairman of the Committee for Culture and Society Trieu The Hung, this is a very important draft Law. The development of the Law is carried out in a fast context but must still be careful, ensuring quality and efficiency.
