Tonight (October 22), in Hanoi, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong attended the Award Ceremony of the 5th Political Contest on Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2025.
Also attending the award ceremony were Politburo members: Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu - Head of the Central Steering Committee 35; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia - Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Deputy Head of the Contest Steering Committee; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Head of the Contest Steering Committee.
The contest is directed by the Central Steering Committee 35, chaired by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council, Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, and the Vietnam Journalists Association, for first-time creative political works, with 5 categories: Magazine, Newspaper, Radio, Television, Video Clip.
This year's contest continues to receive great response and influence with 541,766 entries, an increase of 73,000 entries compared to 2024.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang said that this year's contest is truly a practical activity that contributes to arousing and strengthening patriotism, national pride, and development aspiration in each cadre, party member, and people.
"This year's entries focus on protecting and spreading new contents in draft documents for Party congresses at all levels and draft documents for the 14th National Party Congress; important political and historical events of the country; the Central Government's policies and strategic decisions, especially the revolution of streamlining the political system and building local governments at both levels; strongly spreading positive information according to the motto "taking the good out of the bad" - Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized.
Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that after 7 years of promulgation, Resolution No. 35.NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo on "strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation" has truly come into life and achieved many positive results.
In the process of implementing the Resolution, units and localities have had many good and creative ways, including organizing a Political Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation with many impressions and widespread influence.
"The past 5 years have shown that the contest is truly a broad political activity in the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people; an effective and creative way to gather forces, build a "people's heart position" in protecting the Party's ideological foundation" - Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized.
On behalf of the Contest Steering Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia launched the 6th Political Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2026.
Based on the judging results, the Steering Committee, the Organizing Committee of the Contest, and the Jury will meet, carefully evaluate and review each work, select the best works and the most outstanding collectives to award prizes, including: Individual prize: 137 prizes. Including 12 A prizes, 23 B prizes, 36 C prizes, and 66 Encouragement prizes.
The Steering Committee of the Contest awarded 20 promising prizes to authors/groups of authors who are union members and young people with good quality entries; 20 Outstanding collective prizes to units and localities organizing the Extensive Contest, many works submitted to the Central level contest are of good quality.
