Review of personnel work at the 38th Session

The 38th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will discuss many issues, including reviewing personnel work.

As planned, the 38th Session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will take place from October 7 to 10 and October 14, 2024, in Hanoi.

Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivered the opening speech and, together with the Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, took turns chairing the meeting's content.

At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and give opinions on the following contents:

Regarding the work of law-making, in this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee spent a lot of time giving opinions on draft laws, including: Draft Law on Management and Investment of State Capital in Enterprises; Draft Law on Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Supervision Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils; Draft Law on Teachers (2nd time).

Draft Law on Digital Technology Industry; Draft Law on Public Investment (amended); Draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Planning, the Law on Investment, the Law on Investment under the public-private partnership model and the Law on Bidding.

Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Securities Law, Accounting Law, Independent Audit Law, State Budget Law, Law on Management and Use of Public Assets, Tax Administration Law, National Reserve Law; draft Law on Data.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on: Draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the organization of urban government in Hai Phong City; Draft Resolution of the National Assembly on piloting the mechanism for handling evidence and assets during the investigation, prosecution and trial of criminal cases.

Regarding supervision work, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review and comment on the Report on the results of supervision of the settlement and response to voters' petitions sent to the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly; the results of citizen reception, receipt and handling of citizens' petitions and the results of supervision of the settlement of citizens' complaints and denunciations sent to the National Assembly in 2024.

Report on the National Assembly's public petition work in September 2024; comments on the Government's Report on the results of the implementation of the 2024 socio-economic development plan; projected socio-economic development plan for 2025...

Regarding decisions on important issues, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and give opinions on the investment policy of the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the 2025-2035 period; consider and decide on adjustments to the public investment plan from the central budget in 2024.

Giving opinions on the policy of adjusting land use planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; considering the decision to supplement the regular expenditure estimate of the state budget for 2024 of the Central Party Office; giving opinions on the preparation for the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review personnel work; consider and approve the proposal to appoint the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad.
