Dai Hung pha 3 - Deep water mine, great significance
Located in deep water, about 250km from the mainland, Dai Hung mine in Lot 05-1(a) is located in an area with the most complex mining conditions in Vietnam. Phase 3 of the project is a general contractor for design - procurement - construction - installation (EPCI), invested with more than 400 million USD, including many large-scale items: a WHP-DH01 wellhead located at a depth of more than 110m, a 5.2km soft pipeline system, connected to the existing FPU central treatment plant, along with a series of other supporting works.

With the goal of maintaining and supplementing output for the Petroleum Exploitation Corporation (PVEP) and the Domestic Petroleum Exploitation Company (PVEP POC), the project not only brings efficiency to resource exploitation but also contributes to ensuring energy security and national sea and island sovereignty - top priorities in the sustainable development strategy of the Vietnamese oil and gas industry.
Overcoming challenges, affirming capacity in the new context
Dai Hung Phase 3 is being implemented in the context of fluctuating international markets, supply chain crises, and escalating raw material prices, while complex geological and hydrological conditions in deep water areas require particularly high technical requirements. However, Vietsovpetro has clearly demonstrated the ability of an international general contractor, when not only passing the 6-month competition round, but also mastering the entire design - construction - installation process of the project with super-school - super weight nature.
Human factors - core values make success
Behind the massive technical works is a team of engineers and workers of 100% Vietnamese who have truly mastered the entire project process. This is a long step forward in the autonomy of the domestic Oil and Gas industry, especially in offshore deepwater projects - a field that previously depended heavily on foreign experts and equipment.

Promoting internal strength
In the context of increasingly depleted oil and gas resources in traditional mines, the Vietnamese oil and gas industry is facing the urgent need to reorient its development strategy, strongly shifting from exploitation in agricultural waters to conquering mines located deep in the ocean. This is not only an inevitable trend in the world, but also a vital requirement for national energy security in the coming decades.
The Dai Hung Mineral Development Project Phase 3 is a pioneering step, a solid stepping stone, paving the way for the next development stage of the Vietnamese oil and gas industry - where Vietnam's bravery, intelligence and internal strength are increasingly affirmed on the most demanding technological and technical "frontages" of the global energy sector.
The first oil flow - Affirming success beyond expectations
At 6:50 p.m. on May 7, 2025, Dai Hung mine, phase 3, officially welcomed the first commercial oil flow with a flow of 6,000 barrels/day - 20 days earlier than the adjustment plan. This is not only a positive signal in terms of technology and progress, but also a vivid demonstration of the operational capacity and spirit of overcoming difficulties of all engineers and workers of Vietsovpetro and PVEP throughout the project implementation process.
This event has a special meaning when taking place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Petrovietnam's establishment - a symbolic milestone for the entire development journey of the national energy industry. The successful operation of Dai Hung phase 3 is not only a practical gift to celebrate the Group's founding day, but also a mark affirming Vietnam's vitality, bravery and intelligence in the field of deep-sea oil and gas exploitation.
Dai Hung Phase 3 mark - Contributing to realizing the goal of increasing output and ensuring national energy security
With the meaning of a big bear, perhaps the person who named Dai Hung mine had high expectations for oil and gas reserves. Thus, the Dai Hung Mineral Development Project Phase 3 not only adds valuable oil to national energy security but is also a typical symbol of Petrovietnam's proactive, self-reliant and creative spirit after 50 years of development.
