Inauguration of D1200 clean water pipeline nearly 20 km long
On July 10, in My Le commune, BIWASE Water Joint Stock Company - Long An organized the inauguration of the D1200 clean water pipeline from Ben Luc commune along DT 830 to Cho Tram intersection, My Le commune, Tay Ninh province.
This is a key water supply infrastructure project with a total investment of nearly 800 billion VND, nearly 20 km long.
The project started in November 2025, and has now been completed after 8 months of construction, exceeding the schedule by about 2 months compared to the set plan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh - Standing Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that clean water is an essential infrastructure, directly linked to the quality of life of people and the sustainable development of the locality. Therefore, the province always pays attention to planning, attracting investment and creating favorable conditions for businesses to invest in developing synchronous water supply systems.
The completion and commissioning of the D1200 pipeline is not only the result of a methodical preparation process, close coordination between levels, sectors and businesses, but also an important infrastructure project contributing to improving water supply capacity, ensuring stable clean water sources for people and businesses, gradually reducing groundwater exploitation, towards sustainable development," Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh emphasized.

Bringing clean water to the people
According to records, due to being near the sea mouth, the water is salinized, so freshwater sources in the eastern localities of the old Long An province are very difficult. The water sources of the Vam Co Dong and Vam Co Tay rivers are also not good, contaminated with alum and salt and high organic pollution from pesticides. Groundwater sources in this area are also limited.
Therefore, the above project going into operation is very important. A representative of BIWASE - Long An Water Joint Stock Company said that when put into operation, the pipeline will become a level I clean water transmission line, connecting Nhi Thanh Water Plant with areas that are developing strongly, meeting the stable demand for clean water use for about 420,000 people. At the same time, it serves industrial parks, urban areas and production and business activities in the area.

According to the investor, the project is not only meaningful in terms of technical infrastructure but also an important step in the strategy of shifting from groundwater exploitation to surface water use, contributing to protecting water resources, adapting to saltwater intrusion and ensuring long-term water security for the region.
At the ceremony, leaders of Tay Ninh province requested BIWASE - Long An Water Joint Stock Company to continue to operate the water supply system safely and effectively, accelerate procedures to soon implement the project to increase the capacity of Nhi Thanh Water Plant to 180,000m3/day and night. Departments, branches and localities continue to accompany and support businesses to complete the distribution network, expand the scope of water supply, increase the percentage of people using clean water and meet the development requirements of the province in the new period.
