National Assembly Delegate (NAD) Pham Dinh Toan - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office, emphasized that the proactive implementation of the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group (Petrovietnam) of a large-scale STEM program nationwide has set a new direction for Vietnamese general education, in line with the spirit of fundamental and comprehensive educational innovation according to Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo; is considered a strategic step, demonstrating the social responsibility of a large state-owned enterprise, while contributing to training high-quality human resources for the future.
In recent years, the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group (Petrovietnam) has not only played a pioneering role in economic pillars, ensuring national energy security but has also been known as a pioneering state-owned enterprise in social security activities, especially education. Petrovietnam Group's launch of the "STEM Innovation Petrovietnam" program in provinces and cities across the country is attracting great public attention, as it opens up a new approach to general education in the context of the country entering a strong digital transformation phase.
According to National Assembly Deputy Pham Dinh Toan, Petrovietnam's survey and equipping of STEM classrooms in many provinces and cities - including Hung Yen - is a timely solution, bringing clear benefits to schools and students. STEM classrooms are equipped with modern equipment and advanced textbooks, helping teachers innovate teaching methods from imparting knowledge to developing thinking and practical skills. At the same time, the cooperation between Petrovietnam with research institutes, universities and enterprises in the field of technology - energy also opens up opportunities to connect practical skills for students.
STEM (Science - Technology - Technology - Technology - Mathematics) is currently considered an important educational approach in knowledge-based economies, helping students develop logical thinking, problem-solving and creativity - the abilities that Vietnam really needs in the period of technology transition and international integration. Resolution 71-NQ/TW also identifies this as the key to building high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of national development.

National Assembly Deputy Pham Dinh Toan believes that Petrovietnam cannot only stop at supporting equipment or organizing experiential activities, but can also participate more deeply in vocational training and orientation, inspiring students to choose majors related to science - engineering - energy, which is a human resource that Vietnam is lacking and will need a lot in the future.
He emphasized the impact of the program: STEM Innovation Petrovietnam can become a model to replicate in many other localities. This is a way for a state-owned enterprise to not only support education in the short term, but also contribute to leading the long-term innovation trend in Vietnamese education.
At the same time, investing in the STEM program also demonstrates Petrovietnam's vision in its sustainable development strategy. The Group currently needs a large amount of human resources in areas such as oil and gas, LNG, green energy, renewable energy and high technology. Creating a foundation for future engineers, scientists, and experts right from high school is a sustainable way to invest directly in the long-term development capacity of the Vietnamese energy industry.
The STEM Innovation Petrovietnam program is a clear demonstration of the connection between businesses - education - community, and is also a practical step to realize the tasks stated in Resolution 71-NQ/TW on fundamental innovation of education and development of high-quality human resources.
With a long-term vision, STEM Innovation Petrovietnam promises to create a clear change in education not only in Hung Yen but nationwide contributing to promoting Vietnamese education towards the goal of mastering technology, sustainable development and integration in the new era.
Originating from the idea of General Secretary To Lam, Petrovietnam has had the initiative to implement the "STEM Innovation Petrovietnam" Program, the program was personally launched by the General Secretary, Prime Minister and Party and State leaders at the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Petrovietnam's establishment. The goal of the program is to build 100 international standard STEM rooms in 34 provinces and cities - becoming the largest-scale education project ever initiated by a business in Vietnam.
