On May 10, at Tan Hoi 1 Industrial Cluster (Tan Chau district), French-Vietnamese Sorbitol Joint Stock Company (SOFAVI) held a restarting ceremony for the Sorbitol production plant after a period of temporary suspension for restructuring.
Joy returns to the factory
At the ceremony, it is not difficult to recognize the cheerful smiles of workers and engineers in new uniforms. For them, the day the factory resumes operation is also the day the belief in job stability is strengthened after the fluctuations of the pandemic and the breakdown of the global supply chain.

Currently, the factory is maintaining a scale of about 120 officials, engineers and workers. Notably, up to 90% of the personnel are local people in Tay Ninh province. Prioritizing the use of local labor not only helps businesses stabilize personnel but also makes an important contribution to social security work, creating jobs for rural workers in the direction of "di nông bất ly hương".
Mr. Pham Tien Thinh - General Director of SOFAVI - shared passionately: "In the process of restructuring, we always identify people as the most valuable asset. Reopening the factory helps the technical team have the opportunity to access modern automation technology from Europe, thereby improving their skills and ensuring stable income for their families.
A foothold for cassava farmers
Not only stopping at 120 direct workers, the spread of the SOFAVI project also reaches thousands of cassava (cassava) farmers in Tay Ninh. With a total investment of 1,078 billion VND and a capacity of 30,000 tons/year, the factory commits to using 80% of input materials as domestic cassava starch (Non-GMO).

Tay Ninh is originally the cassava capital of the country, but for a long time farmers have often fallen into the situation of "bumper crop, price drop" due to dependence on raw exports. The presence of a large-scale deep-processing factory like SOFAVI helps create a sustainable "output", closing the chain of links between businesses and farmers. This helps increase the added value of cassava, turning raw agricultural products into high-quality pharmaceutical chemical ingredients serving the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
Accompanying sustainable development
Speaking at the event, leaders of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the province will always accompany and supervise to ensure the best rights for workers, and at the same time support businesses in building a safe and modern working environment.

With the orientation of green and sustainable production, SOFAVI plans to continue recruiting more personnel as the factory gradually increases capacity to serve the export market to Japan and Korea. This is a positive sign showing the strong shift in the Tay Ninh labor structure: from pure agricultural labor to industrial labor with high technical content.
The revival of SOFAVI not only contributes to the local budget but is also proof of the determination of Vietnamese businesses in ensuring "rice pot" for workers and the position of Vietnamese agricultural products on the world pharmaceutical industrialization map.
