In response to modern demands
Climate change is a hot topic around the world these days. In this context, ESG has become the key to sustainable development by setting standards to evaluate the sustainability and responsibility of businesses.
At the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), Vietnam pledged to bring net emissions to “zero” by 2050, demonstrating its ambition and proactiveness in the fight against climate change.
Faced with the need to “go green”, Unilever pioneered in redefining the way of operating to create a sustainable economy, reduce dependence on fossil energy and open up opportunities for international cooperation.
Persistent efforts recognized with Human Act Prize
On December 14, 2024, Unilever Vietnam was named at the Human Act Prize Gala - Action for the Community in the Sustainability Project category with the initiative "Pioneering journey to carbon neutrality in operations".

The project met three criteria: improving production processes, integrating green technology, and establishing an environmental impact measurement system. Through the application of these innovations, Unilever has significantly reduced CO2 emissions in its operations and created long-term value for the economy and society.
Strategic steps on the journey to carbon neutrality
Unilever is shaping its leadership in the journey to carbon neutrality with comprehensive strategic steps, from manufacturing improvements to supply chain restructuring. Unilever has reached a milestone by switching to 100% renewable energy at its manufacturing plants. In addition, Unilever is investing in green technology with projects such as installing solar power systems and using alternative biofuels. In the supply chain, the company also uses recycled biomass fuel, completely replacing fossil fuels in boilers.

Unilever’s efforts not only reinforce its pioneering role but also strongly inspire other businesses to combine economic development and environmental protection. With the support of the Government and the business community, the dream of a net zero Vietnam by 2050 is completely within reach.
