Vietcombank was honored as National Brand for the 9th time

Vietcombank is the only bank to achieve National Brand in all voting periods from 2003 to present.

At the My Dinh National Convention Center, the Vietnam National Brand Council and the Ministry of Industry and Trade held the 9th Vietnam National Brand (THQG) Products and Services Announcement Ceremony with the theme "Entering the Green Era". Vietcombank is honored to be the only bank to achieve the National Brand in all voting periods from 2003 to present.

Attending the event were Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Politburo member, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Comrades of the Party Central Committee, Leaders of Ministries, Departments, Branches, Central Agencies, Leaders of Provincial/City People's Committees, Departments, Branches, Local Agencies and Comrades of the Vietnam National Brand Council, along with members of the Expert Board, Secretariat of the Vietnam National Brand Program and representatives of Leaders of enterprises with products achieving Vietnam National Brand. Representative of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), Mr. Le Hoang Tung - Deputy General Director attended the event and received the honor from the Organizing Committee.

The National Brand Program is a unique, long-term, and specific trade promotion program of the Government aimed at building and developing national brands through product brands. Participation in the program is a process for businesses to comprehensively evaluate their activities, production/business results, and branding strategies through the program's criteria system; thereby encouraging businesses to share and pursue core values.

In 2024, despite the complicated developments of the unstable geopolitical situation in the world that have negatively impacted many aspects of socio-economic life and production and business activities of enterprises, the 9th National Brand Selection continued to attract the participation of over 1,000 enterprises in different industries and fields across the country.

After more than 9 months of launching and implementing the selection activities, on October 21, 2024, the Minister of Industry and Trade - Chairman of the Vietnam National Brand Council issued Decision No. 2776/QD-BCT recognizing 190 enterprises with a total of 359 products achieving Vietnam National Brand in 2024.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: “A brand is not only an affirmation of product quality, but also a commitment to sustainable development to "Strengthen the Green Era". Enterprises achieving the National Brand in particular and the Vietnamese business community and entrepreneurs in general need to continue to promote the core values: Quality - Innovation - Creativity - Pioneering capacity.

In the coming time, enterprises need to focus on implementing well 6 key tasks and solutions. Specifically, enterprises must constantly exploit opportunities from the trend of green growth and sustainable development; pioneer in the green revolution; take advantage of the prestige of the National Brand, while combining product branding with the Vietnam National Brand; actively seek and expand international markets and participate more deeply in global supply chains. The beautiful image of each National Brand will be a beautiful image of the brand of the country, traditions, culture and people of Vietnam, especially in the context of the world promoting commitments on emission reduction and climate change prevention, enterprises need to proactively switch to green production models, using renewable energy and environmentally friendly technology.

In addition, enterprises are constantly improving their modern management capacity; applying advanced, transparent and healthy management standards; focusing on sustainable factors in production. At the same time, promoting digital transformation and green transformation; proactively innovating production and business models, restructuring enterprises associated with the development of green economy, digital economy, and circular economy. Thereby, contributing to enhancing brand reputation, creating strong trust in product and service quality for consumers.

The Prime Minister also pointed out: Enterprises must constantly innovate, create, develop, and apply science and technology to improve labor productivity and business efficiency; proactively and effectively integrate, especially in the context of the digital age and the fourth industrial revolution; apply advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, big data, and automation in production to minimize negative impacts on the environment, and proactively enter the green era.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the success of entrepreneurs and businesses is also the success of the country, contributing to building the image of Vietnam as a green, creative and powerful developing country on the world map, marking the era of Vietnam's rise in the new era.

With the consecutive achievement of the National Award for the 9th time, Vietcombank continues to affirm its position as the leading bank in the system in terms of quality and operational efficiency. With the orientation to maintain the position of the No. 1 bank in Vietnam by 2030, standing in the 200 largest banking and financial groups in the world, the 700 largest listed enterprises globally and making a great contribution to the sustainable development of Vietnam, Vietcombank aims to be the leader in environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) through the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) and the Environmental and Social Risk Management System in line with the Sustainable Development Index in Vietnam of the VNSI Standards, gradually moving towards sustainable development goals on ESG according to international standards.
