Update on gasoline and oil prices on September 4: At 6:30 PM, world oil prices simultaneously decreased.

At 6:30 PM on September 4, 2026, world oil prices simultaneously decreased. Accordingly, WTI oil price was at 90.62 USD/barrel, down 0.68 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.74%. Brent oil was at 95.06 USD/barrel, down 0.46 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.48%.

In the short term, gasoline and oil prices are likely to remain under increasing pressure as geopolitical risks in the Middle East, especially instability around the Hormuz Strait, continue to threaten supply. However, the increase may be limited if Middle East tensions cool down, oil flows through Hormuz gradually return to normal or positive progress emerges in peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world gasoline and oil market in this operating period is affected by key factors such as: the US and Iran continue military attacks against each other; the US Federal Reserve is likely to raise interest rates by the end of this year to curb inflation; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, continuing to focus heavily on energy facilities, oil refineries... The above factors have caused world finished gasoline and oil prices in recent days to fluctuate upwards and downwards depending on the item.

The selling prices of popular consumer gasoline and oil items in the domestic market in the operating period on September 4th are as follows:

- E5 RON92 gasoline: not higher than 22,486 VND/liter (an increase of 723 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price), lower than E10 RON95-III gasoline by 788 VND/liter;

- E10 RON95-III gasoline: not higher than 23,274 VND/liter (an increase of 672 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price);

- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 27,743 VND/liter (down 341 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price);

- 180CST 3.5S mazut oil: not higher than 17,641 VND/kg (down 499 VND/kg compared to the current maximum selling price).

Gasoline and oil selling prices of neighboring countries Vietnam on September 3, 2026:

- Regarding gasoline prices: Thailand: 29,533 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 28,337 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Laos: 45,804 VND/liter; China: 32,879 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 23,274 VND/liter.

- Regarding oil prices: Thailand: 30,081 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 33,218 VND/liter; Laos: 38,208 VND/liter; China: 29,824 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 27,743 VND/liter.

Vietnam's gasoline and oil prices are currently low compared to countries sharing a common border.
