Clause 1, Article 41 of the consolidated document of the Law on Military Service stipulates the temporary postponement of conscription for the following citizens:

a) Not healthy enough to serve in the army according to the conclusion of the Health Examination Council;

b) Being the only laborer who has to directly support relatives who are no longer able to work or have not reached working age; in a family that has suffered heavy losses of life and property due to accidents, natural disasters, and dangerous epidemics confirmed by the commune-level People's Committee;

c) One child of a war invalid, person infected with Agent Orange with a working capacity reduction of 61% to 80%;

d) Having a brother, sister or younger brother who is a non-commissioned officer, soldier serving in the army; non-commissioned officers, soldiers performing their duty to participate in the People's Police;

e) People subject to migration and relocation in the first 03 years to particularly difficult communes according to state socio-economic development projects decided by provincial-level People's Committees or higher;

e) Cadres, civil servants, public employees, youth volunteers who are transferred to work and work in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions according to the provisions of law;

g) Being studying at a general education institution; being trained at the regular university level under a higher education institution, the regular college level under a vocational education institution during a training course of a training level.

h) Standing militia.
