Regarding the proposal of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) on applying the 10th grade high school entrance exam plan with 2 compulsory subjects, Math and Literature, the Da Nang City Department of Education said that the locality is not on the survey list this time and will wait for official guidance from the Ministry.
Recently, the Ministry of Education and Training has sent an official dispatch to Departments of Education and Training to study and contribute opinions on the draft Circular regulating secondary and high school enrollment. The core new point that attracts the most attention in this draft is the proposal that the number of exam subjects for public high school enrollment includes 2 subjects: Mathematics and Literature, completely reducing the third exam subject compared to current regulations.
The expected time for the Literature exam is 120 minutes, and the Math exam is from 90 to 120 minutes. For secondary school enrollment in institutions with competency assessment exams, the draft proposes to organize exams for 2 subjects: Math and Vietnamese.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Nguyen Minh Thanh - Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Education and Training said: "Currently, the locality has not participated in the survey because the Ministry of Education and Training only launched a survey in 3 provinces and cities.
According to a representative of the leaders of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training, for the initial enrollment orientations in the coming time, the locality always proactively adheres to the directions from the Central Government.
The city's education sector will wait for the official Circular to be issued and proactively strictly comply with the directions and instructions from the Ministry of Education and Training" - Mr. Tran Nguyen Minh Thanh emphasized.
In addition to regulations on exam subjects, this draft Circular also sets out important contents to clarify the authority and responsibility of People's Committees at all levels, Departments of Education and Training and educational institutions in "receiving" and "recruiting" first-grade students; and at the same time strengthen the application of information technology and digital transformation throughout the enrollment process.
Currently, the draft is still in the stage of collecting professional opinions and receiving feedback before the Ministry of Education and Training completes and promulgates the official regulations.
