Discretion table of the Ministry of Education and Training: 28 points of the A00 complex are equivalent to 26.5 points of the D01 complex
The Ministry of Education and Training announced the 2025 high school exam score separation table for 7 popular combinations including A00, A01, B00, C00, C01, D01 and D07, showing a clear difference between combinations. For example, a candidate achieving 28 points in the A00 combination is equivalent to only about 26.5 points in the D01 combination. The highest center point is the C00 complex, while D07 and B00 have the lowest center point.
Differential data is used to convert scores between admission combinations, helping to ensure fairness for candidates. The Ministry of Education and Training requires schools when enrolling in multiple combinations to rely on the conversion of assigned positions to ensure the admission opportunities are equivalent, avoiding unreasonable division of quotas between combinations with different average scores.
In addition to high school exam scores, if using separate exams such as competency assessment or thinking, schools need to convert scores based on the classification of grades provided by the exam organizer. Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son - Deputy Minister of Education and Training emphasized that this conversion is based on the percentage of candidates with high scores, for example, top 1% to determine the equivalent between exams, avoiding the "north of the world" lacking scientific basis. Hai Phong male student is admitted to a specialized school after an enrollment incident
The incident of enrollment causing outrage at Tran Phu High School for the Gifted (Hai Phong) involves P.H.H, 15 years old, after being informed of being admitted and enrolled in a Russian specialized class, was suddenly asked by the school to withdraw his application due to "technical problems". Initially, H. did not have enough points, but after the school dropped the benchmark, he was confirmed admitted and completed the admission procedures.
On July 17, the family received a notice from the school about a contestant with a higher score being missed due to a software error. When reviewing, the council discovered that this contestant had achieved 35.05 points, higher than H.'s (34.95 points). The Department of Education and Training has adjusted the admission scores, causing H. to no longer meet the prescribed conditions. The error was determined to be due to software, not by students.
In response to public reaction, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training has accepted responsibility, apologized to the family and proposed a humane plan: allowing the increase of Russian specialized classes from 35 to 36 students to ensure the rights of student H. This proposal has been approved, according to the latest information, student P.H.H will continue to study at the Russian specialized class, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted. See more...
