On April 9, the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee held a thematic Information Conference and held a meeting to deploy key tasks of press work in April 2025.
At the conference, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) Tran The Cuong reported on the results of the implementation of Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching, learning and preparation for primary school admission and high school graduation exams in 2025.
Regarding the enrollment of grade 10 high school in 2025, Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that the whole city has about 127,000 students considering graduating from junior high school.
In order to facilitate students and reduce pressure on students' families, the Department of Education and Training tries to increase the rate of students admitted to grade 10 of public high schools, reaching about 64% or more, an increase of about 3-4% compared to the previous school year.
This means that there will be an additional 5,000 - 5,500 students having the opportunity to enter public schools.
To participate in the 10th grade entrance exam of public high school in Hanoi, students take three exams including literature (120 minutes of study time), Math (120 minutes of study time) and foreign language (60 minutes of study time).
The exam will take place on June 7 and 8, 2025. Candidates registering for the specialized exam will continue to take the specialized exam on June 9.
Regarding the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, Hanoi plans to have 126,000 candidates registering for the exam (an increase of about 15,000 students compared to 2024, of which 103,296 are high school candidates; more than 17,300 are continuing education candidates and more than 5,300 are independent candidates).
The whole city of Hanoi plans to have 250 exam points (an increase of about 50 exam points compared to 2024), with about 5,500 exam rooms (an increase of about 500 exam rooms compared to 2024).
The city plans to mobilize more than 16,000 cadres, teachers, and staff to participate in organizing the exam, more than 600 exam graders, and more than 500 cadres to supervise the exam.
The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27.
The Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training emphasized that with the convenience of VneID, the education sector plans to implement a positioning enrollment model according to administrative boundaries instead of dividing into areas.
Candidates with permanent or temporary residence have the right to register at a nearby school, contributing to reducing the burden, making the admission process more smooth. Starting next year, the education sector will pilot in some places for assessment.
Regarding the implementation of Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching and learning, immediately after the Circular took effect, the Department of Education and Training of the City urgently implemented many activities to put the new regulations into practice.
Accordingly, units and individuals organizing training and fostering inside and outside schools have facilities, fire safety and fighting to ensure teaching and learning activities.
Participating in extra classes all come from the voluntary needs of students and parents with the desire to improve knowledge.
The budget contributed to the extra classes is agreed upon on the principle of collecting enough expenses, ensuring legitimate income for teachers to teach extra classes, in accordance with the economic conditions of each locality.
Hanoi has also deployed software for students to review online, supplement knowledge at home... For senior students, teachers voluntarily teach extra classes without charging.
