The early admission method will be completely eliminated
Information from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) said that the Ministry will announce the university admission regulations for 2025 in February. In particular, compared to the previously announced draft, there will be some adjustments. Information that has received much attention from the public is the elimination of early admission.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training's plan to control the quota of 20% for this method created a forum for debate, receiving many mixed opinions. However, the Ministry still affirmed that "eliminating early admission will not affect the rights of candidates".
Early admission is an admission round that takes place before the high school graduation exam, usually considering academic records, scores for ability assessment, thinking assessment, considering international certificates or combining the above criteria.
Thus, according to the new regulations, higher education institutions can still use these methods for admission, but must consider admission in the same round as the high school graduation exam score, except for the direct admission method according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Not affecting schools much
On the side of higher education institutions, in fact, in recent years, early admission has also had to wait for the final results from the Ministry of Education and Training. Therefore, eliminating early admission will not affect much.
Regarding this issue, Dr. Pham Thanh Ha - Head of Training Department, University of Transport - said that the school is not affected. Realizing that the Ministry of Education and Training will limit early admission quotas, the school does not conduct admission by this method.
"The University of Transport still maintains the method of considering academic records and implementing admission in the same round as the high school graduation exam scores" - Dr. Ha said.
This person also believes that eliminating early admission does not affect the rights of candidates. However, this can cause psychological fluctuations for them. Because in the past, if students had been admitted early to some schools, when entering the following exams, candidates would feel more secure.
However, in accordance with the spirit of the Ministry of Education and Training, the situation of students taking a break from studying in the final semester will be limited.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Dr. Trinh Van Toan - Head of the Admissions Department, University of Electricity - said that the admission plan was not affected much. Other methods will consider admission in the same round as the high school graduation exam score.
According to the update, up to now, more than 100 higher education institutions have announced enrollment information. Schools basically consider admission using many methods but have not announced specific rates and quotas, waiting for the new admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
