On February 14, at Co Tan An Temple, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, from early morning, people and tourists from all over were present to attend the procession to Bao Ha Temple.
At the time of recording, although there was light rain, all preparations for the procession were ready.
It is known that according to tradition, the rainbow group of Co Tan An Temple, Tan An Commune, Van Ban District, went to Bao Ha Temple, Bao Ha Commune, Bao Yen District to hold a rainbow ceremony for Mr. Hoang Bay to return to Co Tan An Temple.
After the festival, people and tourists will enjoy extremely special and vibrant performances along with the opening ceremony of the festival.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Cam Tien Dong - Chairman of Tan An Commune People's Committee - emphasized that the Tan An Temple Festival is a traditional folk festival, a community cultural activity that attracts the participation of many people from all walks of life across the country.
The festival is a sacred treasure trove that transmits cultural identity, distilles the good traditions of the nation.
According to Mr. Cam Tien Dong, along with Bao Ha Temple and Co Tan An Temple, Tran Bao Ha are relics associated with the tradition of fighting to protect the border, and are evidence and folk treasures of the spirit of great national unity.
This is the pride of Van Ban district, Lao Cai province. The next generation is responsible for preserving and promoting the value of the relics. The annual festival is a condition to review the tradition, so that everyone can explore the values of the relic.
Through the festival, it will spread to future generations the tradition of fighting and defending the country for independence, freedom and happiness.
Coming to this year's festival, people and tourists can admire the Dao ethnic drum and dance with the theme "Red in the highlands", with the participation of 300 artisans and local people.
The dance was recognized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Recorder Association as a Vietnamese record with the content: "The traditional bell dance performance of the Dao people has the largest number of participants at the same time, within the framework of the Co Tan An Temple Festival in 2025".
Setting a Vietnamese record for this dance also shows the recognition and honor of the efforts of the Dao community in preserving and promoting the national cultural identity, contributing to enriching the cultural beauty of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
Each festival season is not only an occasion for tourists to offer incense to worship but also a destination for people to learn and experience many unique cultural features of the local people.
