On January 27, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province opened a training class on practicing the ritual of worshiping Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na.
Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the National Cultural Heritage Council; the Sub-Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism of the Central region; and artisans practicing Mother Goddess worship from many provinces and cities in the Central region.
The training class attracted nearly 300 students who are specialists from departments and sectors; leaders of professional departments and public service units under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of the Department of Culture and Society of communes and wards in the province; members of the Provincial Association for Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Spiritual Tourism; representatives of the Provincial Historical Science Association and folk dance troupes practicing the worship of Mother Goddess A Na in Khanh Hoa participating in the training class.
According to the organizers, for 2 days, students will share a general overview of the practice of rituals and beliefs of worshiping Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na in the Central region and in Khanh Hoa. At the same time, learn about regulations and criteria for building dossiers to submit to UNESCO for consideration and honoration of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
Along with regulations on religious and belief management in the current period. The training class also focuses on exchanging views on state management, organizing ritual practice in accordance with regulations, protecting and promoting the value of Mother Goddess worship in community life.
The belief in worshiping Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na has been associated with the spiritual life of the people of Khanh Hoa for a long time. Currently, there are more than 200 relics of worshiping Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na in the province.
