3 people died after heavy rain, flash floods in Bac Kan

    Bac Kan - Heavy rain and flash floods on the night of May 17 and early morning of May 18 killed 3 people and caused many properties to be swept away in Ba Be district.

    On May 18, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Bac Kan province said that heavy rain on the night of May 17 and early morning of May 18 in Ba Be district killed 3 people.

    As of 8:00 a.m. on May 18, the authorities confirmed that 3 people had died in Dong Phuc and Yen Duong communes of Ba Be district. 2 suspension bridges and 1 electric pole in Da Linh commune were also swept away in the flood.

    According to the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Bac Kan province, heavy rain also occurred in some other localities in the province, causing damage to people's agricultural land and aquaculture.

    The authorities of Bac Kan province are approaching the scene, directing search and rescue plans, and overcoming the damage.
