Famous singer Ngoc Anh recalls her first steps into her singing career, which was full of difficulties.
The 60s singer did not receive formal music training from teachers or through any formal school. Therefore, she admitted that she had to work 10 times harder than other artists.
To ensure live singing skills, Ngoc Anh has to practice on the treadmill to keep her breathing steady.
“I bought an exercise machine to bring home, and I jogged and sang to keep my breathing from getting tired. Because I sing rock music and have to do some crazy acrobatics on stage, I do all of this so that the audience will remember me.
It can be said that my efforts are 5 or 10 times greater than other singers because I have to learn to dance, record, film, and perform shows domestically and internationally, and I have to control the work alone, without the support of a manager," the famous singer confided.
According to Ngoc Anh, standing on stage is difficult, but being accepted by the public for an "amateur" like her is even more difficult.
The 60s singer constantly strived to join the ranks of artists "storming" the stage at that time: "When I was lucky enough to step onto the stage and become a professional singer, I devoted all my efforts to conquer the audience.
If I don’t try hard, I can easily be eliminated from the industry. When I have the opportunity to go abroad, I have to buy videos to learn how to perform, buy fashion catalogues to update the fashion trends... I have to strive a hundred times harder than the young artists today.
Famous singer Ngoc Anh emphasized: “To tell the truth, at that time I could only sleep 3 hours or at most 4 hours a day. Because I sang until 2am and came home, I had to go record and film at 6 or 7am.
At 5 pm, I went home to eat dinner, changed clothes, and prepared to put on makeup to continue singing. At that time, there were 365 days in a year, but I sang for 366 days because on New Year's Eve, I was still out singing.
Not only did she strive to release quality, well-crafted products, famous singer Ngoc Anh also tried to “please” her fans every time she appeared. Because at that time, there weren’t as many media outlets as there are now, so artists could only connect with audiences through music venues.
Despite many difficulties, the female singer's passion for singing has never died.
Throughout her 40-year career, she has always nurtured her energy to contribute with her passion and professionalism. “I have never had any intention of quitting singing or retiring,” the 60s singer emphasized.
