On the evening of October 12, at the Kien Bac relic site (Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Phong city), many delegates, people and tourists from all over attended the 725th Anniversary of the death of National Hero Tran Hung Dao and the Opening Ceremony of Con Son - Kien Bac Autumn Festival in 2025.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Tran Thanh Man - Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Mai Van Chinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; along with leaders of the Party, State, central ministries, departments and branches and the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO.
This is the biggest highlight event of this year's holiday season, with special significance when it is held for the first time after the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiep Bac complex was honored by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. In a solemn atmosphere, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man played the opening drum, officially opening the heritage festival season.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Ngoc Chau - Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee said that the city respectfully announced the heritages recognized by UNESCO so that people and domestic and foreign tourists can have more journeys to explore and experience the unique cultural and historical identity of "The place where the quintessence of the heritage region converges".
He emphasized that Hai Phong hopes that each investor, business, and citizen will become a "talented architect" and a "communication ambassador", joining hands to enhance and promote the value of heritage areas, aiming to build Hai Phong into an "unable-experienced" destination.
"The Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2025 took place after the success of the First Hai Phong City Party Congress, being held on the largest scale ever, expanding the festival space, ensuring both solemnity, traditional rituals, modernity and friendliness with tourists" - Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee emphasized.
The ceremony recreates the historical and cultural values of the heritage region through incense offering rituals, reading the culture of Saint Tran and the sacred opening drum. Right after the ceremony, there is a special art program "Hai Phong - The quintessence of the heritage land", recreating the flow of history, culture and spirituality of the sacred land in the form of dramatization combined with modern digital beauty screening, bringing an eye-catching experience to thousands of viewers.
To serve the people and tourists, the Organizing Committee arranged 5,040 seats with 2 large LED screens broadcast live in the area behind the stands and the four-pillar gate. According to the new plan, the fireworks display after the art night will not be held.
Within the framework of the festival, many other attractive activities will take place such as: Youth Union performance on Luc Dau River (morning of October 13, the 22nd lunar month), Cau An Ceremony and Flower Lantern Festival (evening of October 13), along with Con Son Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week - Kiep Bac 2025 lasting from October 4 to 19 (ie August 13-28, the 8th lunar month).
Previously, due to weather conditions, the Organizing Committee announced the temporary postponement of some activities. The official opening of the festival on the evening of October 12 has brought a joyful, sacred and proud atmosphere to the people of the heritage land as well as tourists from all over the world, affirming that Hai Phong is gradually realizing the aspiration to build a "city of living heritage".
