In less than a month, G-Dragon's 2 shows in the World Tour series around the world will officially be held at 8Wonder stage, Vinhomes Ocean Park 3.

After 6 days of opening for sale, the first concert tickets were sold out, while the second show only had a few ticket categories that limited visibility. With a capacity of about 40,000 spectators, the two shows are expected to attract about 70,000 - 80,000 attendees, including both Vietnamese and international visitors.

The fact that international stars choose Hanoi instead of familiar destinations in Asia such as Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore or Hong Kong (China) shows that Vietnam is emerging as an attractive destination on the global tourism map. At the same time, this is considered a golden opportunity to develop the capital's tourism industry.

Previously, a series of famous artists such as Blackpink, CL, Westlife... have chosen Vietnam as their destination, contributing to bringing in large revenues and strong promotional effects for our country's tourism.

Asia's New Music Tourism Destination

In many countries around the world such as: Thailand, Singapore, Korea... music tourism has been popular for a long time and has brought a huge source of income to the tourism industry. With the advantage of geographical location, increasingly complete event infrastructure and unique cultural appeal, Hanoi has the opportunity to rise to become a new music tourism destination in the Asian region.

While Thailand regularly organizes EDM music festivals, Singapore is a destination for international tours, or Korea is famous for K-pop festivals, Hanoi is starting to affirm its position through a series of large-scale events by global artists such as Blackpink, G-Dragon... The choice of these leading names for Hanoi not only proves its organizing ability, but also shows that the city is attractive enough in terms of both performance space, tourism experience and potential for exploiting international markets.

Social media expert Nguyen Ngoc Long commented: Not only stopping at the concert, the effect of spreading after the event also creates a strong boost for Hanoi tourism. Thousands of videos, images, and posts on global social networks recording moments when audiences immerse themselves in the music night atmosphere, experience street food or check-in at famous landmarks such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Long Bien Bridge, the Old Quarter... will help Hanoi appear densely on international platforms. This is a natural but effective form of promotion, bringing the image of the capital closer to young tourists - a group of tourists who are dynamic and willing to spend high.

Meanwhile, travel businesses, hotels and tourism services can fully take advantage of this trend to build tours, combine music - culture - cuisine experiences, targeting international visitors from China, Japan or Southeast Asia.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - General Director of Vitamin Tours & Events Company - said: "Customers coming to see the concert often have a need to travel to nearby destinations, around the city or the event area. Customers are mainly young people with good spending ability. Therefore, travel businesses often proactively design short-term product packages such as Hanoi city tours, night food tours, or tours combined with tours to Ha Long - Ninh Binh - Sa Pa after concerts... to attract tourists, especially international visitors".

According to Mr. Hieu, these programs not only help extend the length of stay, increase the average spending but also create opportunities to promote more deeply the landscape, culture and cuisine of Vietnam. If well exploited, music tourism can become a new piece in the strategy of developing Hanoi tourism brands, along with traditional types such as cultural tourism, heritage or MICE.

With the increasingly frequent appearance of international music events, Hanoi is gradually affirming its position as a "new music destination" of the region, opening up a potential development direction for the capital's tourism industry.
