Countdown 2026 - a boost to revive Gia Lai tourism after natural disasters

Gia Lai - Countdown for New Year's Eve 2026 held in 2 wards in the east and west of the province, is an important boost, helping the tourism vibe to revive after natural disasters.

On December 12, the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that the unit has planned to organize the Countdown Program for New Year's Eve 2026, to serve people and tourists in the province.

The event took place on the night of December 31, 2025 at 2 locations in Quy Nhon ward and Pleiku ward, including a festival, art program and countdown moment to welcome the new year 2026.

The program creates a healthy cultural playground for young people, people and tourists, while contributing to promoting tourism, culture, people and land of Gia Lai.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province, this year's "countdown" event will not show fireworks, the detailed script of the program is currently being completed and will be announced when agreed.

The Countdown 2026 event is considered an important boost, restarting the tourism life that was broken after natural disasters, strongly stimulating, creating attraction for tourists from the first days of the year.

The program promises to bring a unique art and cultural festival, creating a bustling and exciting atmosphere for a new year. This is also an opportunity to introduce new tourism products, unique cultural experiences and restored destinations, contributing to bringing the image of Gia Lai tourism back strongly on the Vietnam tourism map.

According to statistics, in 2025, Gia Lai tourism industry will welcome about 12.4 million visitors, an increase of 16.7% compared to 2024, of which international visitors will reach 125,000, an increase of nearly 10%, and domestic visitors will be over 12.27 million. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND29,000 billion, a record level ever. The goal in 2026 is to welcome 15 million visitors, with revenue reaching 40,000 billion VND.

In 2026, Gia Lai was chosen to host the National Tourism Year with the theme "Congressing identity, spreading green", lasting from the end of March to the end of the year, with cultural, sports and tourism activities nationwide. This is considered an important opportunity for the province to recover the economy, strengthen confidence and affirm Gia Lai as a safe, friendly and attractive destination.
