On the evening of April 24, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang city organized the Da Nang Ao Dai Festival 2026 - an event held for the first time in the city, aimed at honoring and spreading the value of Ao Dai in contemporary life.

The event aims to contribute to positioning Da Nang as a city of intersection between heritage and creativity as well as towards diversifying event products to serve tourism development.
Through the festival, Da Nang aims for a new approach to Ao Dai - from symbolic value to usable value, from performance space to daily life.
Thereby contributing to building the image of a creative, friendly and culturally rich destination. The festival aims to make Ao Dai a daily applicable outfit, while promoting heritage values through connection with modern needs.
This is also an open creative space, promoting the participation of designers, artisans, businesses and the community in developing products, promoting and using ao dai.
The festival takes place from April 24 to April 26, 2026, with a series of activities throughout public spaces in the Han River area (40-42 Bach Dang), cultural institutions in the city, along with the response of the business community in the field of tailoring, renting and trading of ao dai.
Besides the Opening Ceremony, the festival brings many diverse activities such as: ao dai parade "Da Nang Imprint" connecting the community; "Hoi An - Colors of Silk" performance program honoring traditional values combined with contemporary creativity.
Experience space, on-site tailoring; along with the art show "Han River Convergence" taking place at Nguyen Van Troi bridge - a symbol associated with the city's development journey.
The series of activities responds to spreading the spirit of connection and sharing through programs such as "Connecting Ao Dai - Connecting Friendship", "Ao Dai - Connecting Love", and community activities such as wearing ao dai, check-in with communication messages.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An - Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that Da Nang is a city of creativity, integration and aspiration to rise up. In the development orientation, the city always identifies culture as both a spiritual foundation and an important endogenous resource for sustainable development.
The organization of the Da Nang Ao Dai Festival is not only limited to an art performance or tourism promotion activity, but also aims for a larger goal.
