On the morning of July 15, at the Hall of the People's Council - People's Committee of Duy Nghia commune (Da Nang City), the Da Nang City Historical Science Association in coordination with Lao Dong Newspaper (Central Representative Office) and Duy Nghia Commune People's Committee organized the opening of a scientific seminar with the theme "Preserving and promoting the value of Trung Phuong ancient town port associated with the development of cultural tourism in the Southeast Da Nang region".
The seminar was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee; Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc - Director of Hoi An Cultural Heritage Conservation Center; Mr. Bui Van Tieng - Chairman of Da Nang City Historical Science Association; Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Secretary of Duy Nghia Commune Party Committee, along with historical researchers, archaeologists, planning experts and a large number of local delegates.

At the opening ceremony, experts emphasized that Trung Phuong is a port city adjacent to Hoi An, formerly formed and once a premise for Hoi An city. Today's event focuses on stringing up scientific research results to sketch out the face of the trade point that once played an important role in Dang Trong and on the international maritime route, before it was eroded and buried into sediment.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the focus of the ongoing seminar is to propose adjustment orientations, towards integrating the Trung Phuong heritage area into the general plan of Da Nang City after the merger.
The solutions put forward for discussion will create a basis for the city to promote investment, call for potential projects to awaken the heritage area, create motivation for tourism development, improve people's lives and develop the socio-economy of the southeastern Da Nang area.
