The series of activities within the framework of the 12th Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO) Meeting Program took place seriously, professionally and effectively.
The outstanding result is the announcement of the 12th TPO General Meeting Chairman officially approving the TPO Green Horizon initiative of Ho Chi Minh City.
The TPO Green Horizon initiative aims to build a green - sustainable - smart tourism community across the TPO network. This is an important result, affirming Ho Chi Minh City's pioneering role and leadership capacity in global tourism cooperation.
At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City has been successful in hosting and chairing, ensuring the content of the minutes is unified, creating a premise for the effective implementation of activities in 2026 such as: joint communication coordination, cultural and language experience program (CLIP), capacity building program (Capacity Building Program) and other strategic cooperation projects.
With the theme "Shaping the future of the tourism industry: Towards digital transformation and green transformation", Ho Chi Minh City shares strategies and solutions in applying digital technology to tourism management, developing environmentally friendly tourism products, and enhancing the experience of tourists.
Through meetings, conferences and the Presidential Declaration, Ho Chi Minh City clearly demonstrated its strong commitment to promoting sustainable tourism development, not only bringing economic benefits but also protecting the environment and cultural identity.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism commented that thanks to the stimulus programs of the tourism industry, the coordination of the industry and trade sector and a series of exciting cultural activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in harmony with the spillover effect of the 19th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair (ITE HCMC 2025) and the 2025 TPO General Meeting, the city's tourism industry has had an important boost. This is a solid foundation for a breakthrough in the final period of 2025, while opening up a strong growth prospect in 2026.
Ho Chi Minh City is one of the founding cities and the only city in Vietnam to hold the role of Executive Committee Member, actively participating in TPO activities. At the same time, it effectively contributes to strengthening and expanding cooperation and exchanging experiences in tourism development between member cities.
