Dien Bien - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) has stopped organizing many cultural activities to focus on overcoming the consequences of floods.

On August 11, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien announced that it had just issued a notice to stop organizing a number of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Cultural Industry's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).

Accordingly, a number of activities will be stopped, including: Cultural and artistic exchange activities; meeting programs...

However, other activities such as: Propaganda work; gratitude activities; publishing a special news report to celebrate the 80th anniversary; the contest to compose on the logo of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism... are still carried out as planned.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien, in recent days, floods and landslides have occurred in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces, including Dien Bien province, causing serious damage to people, property and infrastructure.

The suspension of some activities is to focus resources on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. At the same time, it shows sharing and support for the losses and difficulties of ethnic minorities in the province affected by floods.

Previously, the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien also announced the suspension of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the State Organization Industry's Traditional Day and the 60th anniversary of the Department's establishment. Units focus on supporting people to overcome difficulties and damage caused by natural disasters.

Based on the actual situation, the Department will organize a seminar on the tradition of 80 years of building the State Organization sector and 60 years of establishing the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien province in an appropriate form, instead of organizing exciting activities.

According to statistics, the flood that occurred from July 31 to August 2 in the whole province had 10 deaths and 12 injuries; over 640 houses were damaged, thousands of hectares of rice and crops were washed away and buried; many traffic routes, schools, medical facilities, public works... are estimated to have caused damage of over 700 billion VND.

In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.

"A piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full", with the spirit of mutual love that has always been a beautiful image of the Vietnamese people, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund calls on domestic and foreign philanthropists to join hands to share with people affected by floods.... to soon stabilize their lives.

The Golden Heart Social Charity Fund would like to sincerely thank the precious feelings of agencies, businesses, and domestic and foreign philanthropists.
