On the afternoon of July 31, rapper MCK posted an apology to the audience after the debates related to the album "HVL" and was invited by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to work on this matter. The male rapper said that he had realized the shortcomings in the process of releasing products using inappropriate language.
According to MCK, the initial goal of the crew is to contribute to the Vietnamese music market, and at the same time bring products to the international public. The project content is built from personal experience, reflecting the journey of maturity as well as how he perceives the right and wrong in life.
The male rapper affirmed that he had no intention of promoting, encouraging or spreading illegal acts. However, after being disseminated the relevant regulations by functional agencies, he realized a mistake in the way he used words.
Although I have made recommendations to listeners, I still have irresponsibility and lack of responsibility when letting many inappropriate audiences access on some public platforms," MCK said.
The male rapper pledged to remove all recordings containing inappropriate language from digital platforms and media within his management scope. These contents will be edited before the crew considers releasing them again.
MCK also requested domestic partners to stop exploiting, issuing and circulating recorded documents that have been reflected, in order to limit further spread.
Regarding performance activities, the male rapper committed not to perform songs with content contrary to legal regulations. He said he will only participate in programs approved by competent authorities and perform the registered content correctly.
MCK also called on listeners and related organizations and individuals to support the removal of content containing images and sounds from the being processed recordings. He hopes the audience will not spread unverified information to avoid affecting the process of considering the case.
In the post, the male rapper sent thanks to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the Internal Political Security Department (PA03) - Ho Chi Minh City Police and related units for guiding him to clearly recognize shortcomings.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports confirmed that it had worked with MCK, real name Nghiem Vu Hoang Long, to exchange and clarify the reflected contents.
Representatives of the Department said that the unit is continuing to coordinate with relevant agencies to review the case according to legal regulations and professional procedures. The results will be informed to the press and the public after a conclusion according to their authority.
Thus, up to now, functional agencies have not announced the final conclusion or form of handling for MCK.
The album "HVL" includes 30 songs, released in June 2026.
After more than a month, the album caused controversy because some songs used vulgar language, images and metaphors that were said to be related to stimulants. The case raises the issue of artists' responsibility in controlling content, age warnings and product access on a public platform.
