In recent days, social networks have appeared many reports that singer Son Tung M-TP once participated in promoting a betting website. The scandal started when the brand posted a video of Son Tung's performance at a music event in Da Lat at the end of 2024, and introduced itself as the "diamond sponsor" of the show. The incident quickly caused controversy, causing many viewers to doubt the artist's involvement in disguised promotion activities for online betting.
In response to public reaction, a representative of M-TP Talent Company - the unit managing and organizing Son Tung M-TP's performance activities, gave an official response on the afternoon of September 23.
Accordingly, M-TP Talent affirmed that there is no agreement or cooperation with the above betting website. The music night in Da Lat was organized by TZ Viet Phat Company Limited, and this unit directly signed a performance service contract with M-TP Talent. The appearance of a betting brand at the event is completely out of the agreement.
As soon as the incident was discovered, M-TP Talent sent an official dispatch requesting the organizers to explain. In the response document No. 24/VP dated October 17, 2024, TZ Viet Phat admitted that it had arbitrarily cooperated with the betting website without notifying the artists and crew, and at the same time apologized. M-TP Talent said that it is continuing to request the organizing unit to force the partner to immediately stop the illegal use of the image, while thoroughly handling the content that is spreading false information.
The company representative emphasized: "We are determined to protect the image and reputation of artists, and do not tolerate any acts of exploitation for illegal purposes".
The incident related to Son Tung took place in the context of public opinion still discussing the MV "Anh em xin sau un" by Ngu Ho Tuong group. Previously, this MV was discovered to have integrated many promotional images for an illegal betting website.
On September 22, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (PA05) sent a working invitation to the group members, including Ung Hoang Phuc, Khanh Phuong and Kim Cuong's manager. The MV has now been removed, and was later re-posted with controversial details that have been removed.
