Tourists change year-end travel trends
Ms. Ngo Ngoc Mai (35 years old, Hanoi) started planning for her family's year-end trip. Unlike the summer vacation that usually lasts many days, her family prioritizes a short trip, convenient for travel and suitable for her child's school schedule.
Meanwhile, Mr. Phan Tuan Kiet (28 years old, Hanoi) wants to take advantage of the last months of the year to explore new destinations with a group of friends. Instead of just relaxing, he pays more attention to the scenery, cuisine and unique experiences of each locality.
My group usually chooses trips of 3-4 days, as long as the destination has many things to explore. If the service is good and the experience is worth the money, we are still willing to spend more" - Mr. Kiet said.
The difference in the choice of trips shows that year-end travel demand is increasingly diverse. Tourists not only consider destinations but also focus on length of stay, experiences and values gained from the trip.
Year-end tourism demand continues to differentiate
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Bui Thanh Tu - Marketing Director of BestPrice Travel Company - said that the domestic tourism market in the last months of the year still maintains growth momentum, but demand will be more clearly differentiated between groups of tourists. The number of domestic tourists in general may increase by about 8 - 12% compared to the same period in 2025.
The strongest impacting factors are airfares, weather, income and people's spending psychology. If airfares are maintained at a reasonable level and localities have more new products, the domestic market will have a relatively positive year-end season" - Mr. Tu said.
The revenue growth rate can reach about 15 - 25%, higher than the visitor growth rate, because customers tend to choose better quality hotels, add experiential services and prioritize convenient packages," Mr. Tu assessed.
From another perspective, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Flamingo Redtours - said that the end of the year will no longer be a prominent time for sea tourism like summer. Instead, products suitable for weather and exploration needs will have many advantages.
At the end of the year, there will be many products such as visiting and exploring the Northwest region, flower season products or heritage journeys in the Central region. These are product lines that are more attractive in this period" - Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoan said.
Another highlight mentioned by Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoan is tourism combined with conferences and seminars of agencies, businesses and organizations. This group of visitors is expected to create more customer sources for the market in the last months of the year.
Agencies, businesses, and organizations that need to organize conferences, seminars and combine resorts. Therefore, MICE tourism (a form of tourism combining meetings, seminars, exhibitions and commendations of businesses) will be one of the noteworthy types from now until the end of the year.
