He has achieved everything he wants materially, but he has lost connection with his wife and children and always feels empty and exhausted. He failed to learn to be happy with what he had (a loving family, a stable job, good health) while pursuing goals.
She is also an ambitious woman, building a small company. She has many things to pursue: Expanding the market, increasing revenue, recruiting more employees. But she formed a habit of studying from the advice of a philosopher when every evening, she spent 15 minutes writing down 3 things that made her grateful for the day. Sometimes it is just a friendly smile from a stranger, a warm handshake from a new customer, or simply drinking delicious coffee at a very chill restaurant.
She was well aware of the challenges ahead, but she did not let them overshadow her current joy. She learned to be happy with what she had (work was improving, staff were enthusiastic, good health) and to consider pursuing everything she wanted as an interesting game, not a fierce battle. This satisfaction has helped her maintain positive energy, make more wise decisions and avoid being overwhelmed by pressure.
This balance lies in accepting goals as motivation to move forward but always knowing how to live in the present and enjoy the smallest joys of the day. If we only focus on what we crave and want, we will always live in a state of trying and worrying, because there is always a higher goal to compare.
But if we learn to be grateful for what we have from relationships, achievements, and our own health, we will build a solid emotional foundation. gratitude brings prosperity and it is that prosperity that is the strongest source of energy for us to continue to pursue our dreams.
Speaker Jim Rohn once called on everyone to live a full life right now, don't delay joy until success is achieved, but let the joy of the present fuel your journey to success.
