It is expected that on May 21, the People's Court of Go Vap District (HCMC) will reopen the trial of the compensation dispute case, between the plaintiff, Mr. Nguyen Duy Manh (singer Duy Manh, 50 years old, living in Tan Binh District) and the defendant, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam Co., Ltd. (mercados-Benz Vietnam Co., Ltd. - headquartered on Quang Trung Street, Ward 8, Go Vap District, HCMC).
However, on the afternoon of May 20, singer Duy Manh withdrew the lawsuit. The lawyer defending the legitimate rights and interests of singer Duy Manh said that he had represented the male singer to withdraw the lawsuit according to regulations.
Duy Manh said that the withdrawal of the application was through the proceedings and reviewing the evidence collected and provided by the parties, he found that it was no longer necessary to continue to resolve the case. The male singer pledged to withdraw the application is completely voluntary and suggested to receive a lawsuit.
Previously, because singer Duy Manh and Mercedes-Benz Vietnam Company could not find a common voice after the Mercedes-Benz S450 Luxury that singer Duy Manh bought for more than 4.7 billion VND in August 2020 caught fire while parked in the basement, singer Duy Manh filed a lawsuit demanding compensation for damages.
In the lawsuit, singer Duy Manh said that on the evening of February 15, 2023, the Mercedes-Benz S450 Luxury was parked in the basement of an apartment building in Thanh My Loi ward (Thu Duc city) when it suddenly caught fire. At this time, the car is still under a 36-month warranty period.
After the fire was extinguished, Thu Duc City Police arrived at the scene to handle the situation, took the car out of the basement and pulled it back to the headquarters.
